Help me get a CAD class in my school!

I am asking for some help in my quest to get a CAD class in my high school. I am writing an essay and I would like some quotes about how learning CAD in high school has helped in college or maybe even a picture of the stuff that you have made using CAD. Anything and anything else would be appreciated.

I would have hated to do CAD in high school.In uni it's not too bad, but it isn't an artform or anything. You can learn the basics in a matter of days.

CAD is an invaluable tool for:
- interior design (furniture layout) via a scaled diagrams
- mechanical design of environmental enclosures (check clearances on devices inside)
- 3D rendering of landscaping and building design
We use it all the time for our wiring diagrams...

we have an engineering class and architechture class that use cad programs...getting your school to have one set up is to be fun. if you think about it the technology is pretty expensive...we have the latest software and are getting solidworks next semester which is priced at 3000$ for commercial use but we r getting 30 licenses cuz we are a school .plus the teacher of the cad has to be good...ours is good...*cough* best school in state for engineering and architechture in TSA* cough* sorry have no idea what happened there.....plus we get the cool stuff like...CNC machines 3d printers super large plotters all the latest software...drool droool...here be some pics of a hour i drew up in autodesk..soon ill put in some pics of a differential i helped draw http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/skateboarderx24/house2.jpg

I use my CAD skills constantly, even though my job has nothing to do with CAD. I can design projects for home improvement, parts for my car, or other items for my home. I designed the back deck we have on our house using AutoCAD 2000. I've designed tables and benches for our backyard (never built them though). It's a great skill to have even if you don't go into an architectual career.If I can find my portfolio at home I'll post some stuff I've done, starting at the beginning of the class, and towards the end.
