Google Hacked!

For a while google.ca was down, this included gmail and everything. Google is back up, but gmail is still down. Everything points to GOOGLE BEING HACKED!!!! They said it was impossible but it looks like it has happened. I mean google has one of the tightest security on a server ever. The location is in a laptop (no internet conection) in a breifcase, cuffed to ONE guys arm with security guards all around him. Its crazy. I wonder who did it?

Whois Server Version 1.3

Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registered
with many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.net
for detailed information.

GOOGLE.COM.SUCKS.FIND.CRACKZ.WITH.SEARCH.GULLI.COM
GOOGLE.COM.HAS.LESS.FREE.PORN.IN.ITS.SEARCH.ENGINE .THAN.SECZY.COM
GOOGLE.COM

To single out one record, look it up with "xxx", where xxx is one of the
of the records displayed above. If the records are the same, look them up
with "=xxx" to receive a full display for each record.

NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the
registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is
currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration

I did a WHOIS on google.com last night and it came up with that ^. Looks like the DNS servers were hacked!

Check the link again. There are quite a few updates. Google says it was a DNS glitch o some sort, but then why was it redirected, and why wont Google tell us the cause.

Google's DNS was down, but there's no evidence it was hacked. The WHOIS entry has been there for a long time -- gulli.com and seczy.com just registered alternate nameserver addresses for their information, so that people searching for google.com on a whois record would find it. Just a bit of tomfoolery, nothing serious. Run a whois on microsoft.com... similiar results. Funny, too. Also, during the outage, google.com /seemed/ to be redirecting to sogosearch.com, which many people chalked up to a hack -- but it was actually browser behavior that led to that redirect, it seems. Because the browsers couldn't find google.com, they redirected to google.com.net (weird behavior, yes, but not unexpected) -- and *.com.net is owned by sogosearch.com. Pretty simple really, a lot of excitement over very little.
