Before I explain, this is ALL in the guidelines.

When he posted about his forum, it was not based on iPods, nor does it REALLY have anything to do with iPods, where as your forum is ALL to do with iPods. In the rules it states a user MAY NOT post a link to their site if it is about iPods, because iPod Lounge have had many flame wars with this type of thing about whos forum is better ect... Also, since that was one of your first posts, you could just have been a commercial member, and once you had advertised your forum you might have left immediatly.

Now, personally I like your forum, but this is NOT the place to advertise it. You are, I believe, allowed to advertise it in your signiture, EVEN if it is to do with iPods.

I will just add this last thing, not that I can do anything about locking anyway :D

I don't THINK iPod Lounge is worried about the competition, because as you say, it would be extremely hard to match the members/posts they have, but what I THINK they are worried about is the flame wars breaking out again, because, believe it or not, loads of users have iPod websites, and if you were allowed to post up every iPod site anyone had, there would be absolute havoc!

Still, if that's how you feel, you could bring it up with the admin/mod of the site, or better yet, put it in the suggestions forum, though I very much doubt that they will change their minds about this.

I do like your forum and I think it's well designed, but it DEFINATLY needs more promotion! Good luck with it!
