I cant find what Im looking for......

Whats my problem? I purchased my 20gb i-pod at Xmas, and have been filling i-tunes on my PC ahead of "filling up" my i-pod. As I am now nearly full, at 19+gb, I felt ready to attach my ipod. The pc recognised the device, but, tellingly, I was NOT asked to name it, as the manual suggested. Nonetheless, the do not disconnect sign came up on the ipod andthe circle in the top left started to spin. 2 days ago........... The battery became full within an hour or 2 but I think something is wrong as I can not believe it is still transferring. Oh, and the i-pod is not appearing in the play list list, as the apple video suggests. Given the warnings around disconnecting when do not is flashing, what do I do?

Hi, George. I'm amazed that you've gone 5 months without trying your pod. (Note that 19+ GB exceeds your iPod's 18.6GB capacity.) Unfortunately, iPod connection problems are all-too-common with PCs, especially if you're using USB instead of Firewire. Here is a link (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61135) to Apple's support page on disconnecting. There is a link there to info re. disconnecting safely even with the spinning circle, if you trust their info. As you might have discovered, Apple doesn't provide on-line tech support. (I know! Who'd have believed it!) Their site does have discussion forums, however, and though there are many iterations of the basic problem you describe, you probably have the best chance of finding a solution for your particular iteration on the iPod > Connecting to Windows forum (http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?14@362.fJaIaR1kVcV.888955@.3bb85fdc) there, where many helpful iPod users provide volunteer tech support. Note that there is also an iPodlounge forum here (http://forums.ipodlounge.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=21) for discussion of iPod/Windows PC problems.

Have you run the CD that comes with the iPod?

That will fix all problems.
