URGENT - how do you get photos off an ipod

Really hoping someone can help me. I'm in the middle of a "proof that you should always backup" story.
My G5 lost the plot and lost my iphoto directory when transfering from one HD to another. Tried various recovery programs but no luck.
I do however have my photo colleciton on my Ipod so - does anyone know what application I can use to read the .thmb file format that they are stored in on the Ipod?

This would really savce my life!

Thanks

John

Welcome. If you stored the photos on the iPod and checked the box 'Full Resolution' then you can get the photos off of the iPod. If you did not check this box then your out of luck and you've lost the photos for good.

-Connect the iPod photo
-Open the iPod HD
-Inside you will see a folder called 'Full Resolution'
-Click on it and keep clicking on the folders inside until you see the pics.
-You will be able to then remove the photos from each folder or just remove the folder that says 'Full Resolution' to your desktop.

Make copies of the photos by burning them to a disk to avoid this hapening again.

..yeah. didn't tick the option :( (another chaprter int he not backing up story)

I saw an app called xplay photo browser which does what i need , but only for Windows machines. Figured that if you can do it on an windows ipod you can do it on a mac one?

Check the Mac OS X section and there is a Mac 9. Just click the link at the top.
