i hate itunes

hello good people

i have recently had to download the new iTunes cos musicmatch jukebox doesn;t work any more with the recent updates.

I'm prepared to accept that it could be better than musicmatch plus. however so far i think it is slower, and not as customisable.

for example i cannot find away to have iTunes name my files when ripping music, in any other way than just the name of the song.

i am used to recording the mp3s with the filename syntax as follows: artist-album-track no.-track name.mp3.

Please please help me. there must be a way of setting iTunes to do this.

By the way i'm using a pc.

Thanks

The only custom file name that can be changed is iTunes is adding the track number to the file name, otherwise it is always just songname.mp*

Some people get around this by using other ripping protocols such as EAC LAME and then importing into iTunes. You may be a candidate to use other software to rip, but iTunes to organize.

Welcome to the lounge.
