sequre and safe ipod

firstly i have had my ipod for 2 days and i was very paranoid about it being stolen...so i have created a couple of steps that will save your ipod from theives,

1. never keep your standard earbuds...only use black ones so that no one will notice that you are listening to an ipod..

2. i have been keeping an old mp3 player that is broken in my bag so if some 1 was trying to jump me for it i could give them the mp3 player instead.

3. i keep myne in my bag and just have the headphones coming out of the little hedphone outlet thing so i just have my pod on shuffle and listen to any song that comes on...some times this is really annoying....i would really like to get a remote for it but..i didnt get many shifts this week so i guess that wont be happening any time in the near future.

4. never use your ipod on a bus which routes through some of the worst "ghetto" parts of your town...there will be commonly bummy ppl who just get off over stealing stuff...

so in conclusion im really just saying play it smart and safe you will be fine.

Im gusssing youve never lived in a really poor part of a town. He was saying if he got jumped, he could give the bad guy his old mp3 player. Use it as a decoy, instead of giving him the iPod.

Let me get this, you carry a broken mp3 player in your bag so if someone wants to steal what you're evidently listening to you will give it to them? LOL
A thief should only be so stupid as to ask for the player when he should be stealing your whole bag!!! ROFLMAO :p

My God...You guys act like such wusses some times. Never in my life will I be afraid to use something publicily that I worked my ### of for. Get in my face and I'll smash your fu*k. Honestly, for anyone seriously afraid of this, I suggest martial arts training. You need a real boost in confidence. I'd suggest TaeKwonDo but my suggestion would be biased. I mean seriously...I use my white headphones all the time...If I see someone glaring at them, they look up and see me glaring right back at them. And I dont break eye contact until they do. I know a couple of TKD friends who just wanna borrow my iPod headphones and walk around just hopin someone will try some stupid ####.

Oh man, you are so badass, I cannot get over how cool you are. John McClane would be petrified by your toughness. I would give my right (or left) nut to be a sixteenth as cool as you are.

3 our of 5 or so kids at my school run about with iPods in their hands, so I'm not overly worried about my baby getting stolen. That is a good point about not wearing the white headphones though... I like that! I'm halfway between dork and cool at my school so I don't think I'm in danger from either side. But if anyone DOES try anything, can I get a lighter sentence at my murder trial because it was in self-defense of my 'Pod? :D

... some of you are pretty paranoid... if you get jumped while walking through a "ghetto, crummy area" (which you shouldn't be doing alone in the first place, and if you were, you shouldn't be carrying a theif magnet that is the iPod), losing your iPod should be the least of your worries - there's far more important things at stake like.. your life

That's some neat advice KRAZY_KON. :) And to all the people that say we are paranoid, were not, we just love our babies. Personally I don't want something I paid $400 for to get stolen. It took me a really long time to earn enough money for my iPod.. I go to a really ghetto school, and I know what it's like.. I've gotten so many things stolen.. I've even been jumped before :( Oh, and to the Vegeta.. not everyones "Confident, or well built" as you  TaeKwonDo isn't gonna help you from gangbangers with knives and guns..

Haha really, peope walk the walk but don't talk the talk, it's easy to act all badass and hardcore but I guarrantee you'll wet your pants when held at gunpoint. And how can you NOT be paranoid with an iPod? Someone who takes something like an iPod lightly is either stupid, rich, spoiled, or all of the above. I paid for my iPod with 100% my money, so it means a lot more. Those of you who had mommy or daddy buy it, you wouldn't understand.

Power to the workers! :)

I live in the ghetto and I keep mine flaunting in pulic site at school as an acessory. It's the ultimate PIMP-dom.

iPod mini, silver, works wonders with the ladies.

I want a larger iPod for out of school use though...I hope it breaks...so I can take it to bestbuy, add $50 and get a 20gb or is it 40gb?

I don't think it's that paranoid. I'm using black headphones myself so that I wouldn't be that noticable that I'm having an iPod on me. I paid a lot for my iPod and I don't want it to be stolen. That's why I'm not going to put my iPod on display in public.
