Repeating message when connecting Ipod to computer

Ok, I have windows XP and my ipod is a first gen. mini. I used to alwasy get this message, "Do not disconnect" "OK to disconnect" back and forth. It literally spams those 2 messages.

It has been happeneing for a whiel and waht i woudl usually do is just keep unplugging it and reseting ituntil it stopped. However, I tried that now for about 100 times and it my ITunes still doesn';t recognize that the Ipod is plugged in, nor does the Ipod updater.

Any other software i can use to help this?

I also realized somethine wierd, whenever I stop the IpodServices.exe process, the ipod stabilizes at the message "Do not disconnect". As soon as I open ITunes, it goes back to spamming it back and forth.
