Error Message

Please help, when i-tunes loads with my mini i-pod connected, I get the following error message:

File or Directory \iPod_Control\iTunes\Play Counts is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility.

I have not yet been able to use my mini i-pod and am getting more and more frustrated. Is this a problem with my actual i-pod?

You have a corrupt file on your iPod. Run the Disk Scan and see if that helps. If that does not work do a full restore, that should fix it, but be warned, you will lose all your music and data on the iPod. Then run the updater to get the latest version.

Thanks for the advise, but I did already try that. Basically I had Windows 2000 with SP2 on my computer, my i-pod would not work at all I then updated it with SP4 and it now recognises the i-pod and loads up i-tunes but then displays that error messgae. Could it possibly be something to do with the update?
