What about Magnets?

hi! it's my 1st msg and first of all i wanna congrat all the people around this site!!

i've bought a leather case with some magnets to close the flip top...so i wanna know if these magnets are good to my ipod? i mean, all of us know that magnets aren't good friends of hard disks, and an ipod it's a hard disk...so i wanna know i have to change my case or i can use my new case without problems...

Not unless it's a very strong magnet.
If the case was designed for an ipod, then you should be ok.

It takes industrial power magents to mess up a hard drive. NO magnet in the home or most businesses would do it (hard drives are a LOT different than floppies in how they use the magnetic memory!)

HOWEVER- some bigger magnets (big TVs or speakers, for example) MIGHT damage other parts of the hard drive- possibly forcing a reset or so forth.
