Why are there so few cases that protect the wheel and screen?
I've been looking around at cases, and it strikes me as odd that there seem to be so few case that protect the wheel and screen. The only one I've seen that does both is the Radtech MiniSleev - none of the silicon ones offer a similar facility and iSkins don't produce wheel caps for the mini. Has anyone seen any cases that cover the wheel and the screen apart from the one I've mentioned?

Lajo's exo2 series will protect the clickwheel and you can add an iShade for screen protection. Not a perfect solution, but it's essentially the same as the iSkin with added click-wheel protection.

because obviously if you cover the wheel with something too thick it wont work?
# 3 Re: Why are there so few cases that protect the wheel and screen?
You can add a Power Support 3D Wheel film to the mini and put it in a case that protects the screen, such as the agent 18 minishield. Power Support also makes films for the screen if you need that. Also if you're looking for something simple but not very protective like the radtech minisleeves, you could take a look at the xwrap, which is all clear plastic.

what i did was buy an exo3mini case (which covers the wheel) than just put palm screen protector on the screen

Well I think that it should at least be a little bit reasonable. But I guess as long as Channard likes it, its good.
Just saying that I wouldn't pay $10 for something like that.

When the wheel is protected will it reduce control at all? It seems like it would not be as effective since it has the finger touch technology and stuff.

I have a pink iPod mini. I have a pink silicone case for it but it doesn't protect the screen OR the click wheel. Ok , okay I don't really need it to protect the wheel because then I wouldn't really be able to use it but it should at least protect the screen!!!

Well iskin did put out some evo2's with screen and clickwheel covers (they even threw in 2 audible downloads for free). I have one on my 30GB photo and i'm pretty sure they put them out for the mini too. Whether they still include them on the mini and regulare ipods I don't know. Last time i was at the store where i purchased my iskin, they only had the iskins without protectors.
EDIT:
Oops appearantly it was only a limited time offer, but they are state they are going to release the clickwheel protectors back on Feb. 2005. Though it's not listed on their online store. It says it will only work with evo2 iskin cases, but if the click wheels are the same size i don't see why it wouldn't work on a mini.
Here is the

Chums iPod Cases protect the screen and click wheel, and the clickwheel is still controllable through the transparent plastic window. Give them a look:
See the Groupie (http://www.chums.com/?plid=24&pfid=102&psid=291), Flip Mini (http://www.chums.com/?plid=24&pfid=101&psid=286), and iFrame Mini (http://www.chums.com/?plid=24&pfid=100&psid=281) cases.

Depends what you're looking for.
iPouch by B. Taylor is a flip over-the-shoulder and has a carabiner if you want to attach it to a bag or back pack. (URL ipouchcase)
Then there are the designer cases if you got $$$ to burn. I saw that Fendi was trying to sell a case with bling for close to $2,000.

i actually found a no name case for my mini, and it fits perfectly on. looks like i skins except the colours come in see-through shades. looks very cool, i have a green ipod and the case is seethrough blue, yummy. anyway, it actually has protection for screen and click wheel. yup, silicone covering for the wheel. and the wheel still works well of course. i can even play brick with it, hooray to the random guy selling these cases for $20 on the downtown streets of toronto.
