Is it Windows 98 or Windows 98SE?

The Apple i-Tunes software only runs on 98SE or above.

You can use iPod Mini with Windows 98 (both 98 and 98SE) using USB connection.
But you cannot use Apple iTunes software for that. Winamp and others works OK.
More info at iPod Windows 98 page ( http://mho.republika.pl/ipod/index.shtml).

Hey! I'm having the same problem except for Windows ME. What should I do?

As said in other posts, minis are only compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This is mainly an iTunes limitation. You need a third party workaround (EphPod, WinAmp, AnaPod, etc.) to get it to work on Windows 98 or Windows ME. Google it or check out www.versiontracker.com

If you are going to get a Media Player because you can't use iTunes because of your OS, I would reccomend Ephpod.
