Anyone ever have problems with cheaper power adapters?

You know, the ones that are actually affordable and are not from people like Belkin and Griffen. I don't really need the extra features they offer and $25 for a basic charger is a bit much once you start adding in all of the other things I still need.

Basically the iPod is like any other electronic device. Feed it the right amount of voltage and you'll be fine. Since I can't find any info on specific afforable adaptors I'm asking here on whether anyone has had problems or success using any of the cheaper adapters they've found on or offline. I think we all know how much vendors like Belkin et al are really sticking it to iPod users with ridiculous prices so I'd like to avoid that route if possible. Thanks.

And since the forum still won't let me post urls..

go to geeks.com and click the iPod picture and you'll see
"iPod Compatible 30-Pin Cigarette Lighter Charger Cable-White "

For like $5. That's probably an extreme example but like I said I haven't come across any reviews of the cheaper variety ie ~$10 etc.

Yes there is cheaper AC adapters for ipods. I bought an AC adapter for the ipod mini 2nd. generation but it does other ipods also. I purchased it at the PC Mall. for $9.99. Shipping is $4.99 standard UPS ground. Have been using it for over 2 mos. now. NO PROBLEMS. Hope this helps you. They do say not to purchase second party accessories. But I did alot of checking on this item first. Says it'd made for the ipod. Just be careful who you buy from.
