wall of shame

while surfing through the forums i sometimes see that someone has been banned or suspended and i begin to wonder "why did that person get banned?" i think it would be very effective to have a wall of shame, where if someone is acting disorderly they can be publically listed and it may cause them to calm down a bit, also if the person ends up being banned it could be posted why they were banned. the wall could be in the forums in the section where the lounge, classifieds and feedback and sugestions are at right now.

I like that idea man.

Maybe the shame of public humiliation will stop that member(s) from misbehaving.

Seems like it could quickly turn into a wall of flame.

Not if it was a 'view only' thread, that only mods could edit maybe ?

and it would only be one post long, so you wouldnt need to go searching through a million posts... here is an example of what it could look like: next thread down.

We do not feel that public humiliation is really the right way to deal with transgressors. For a start off, their would be 270+ banned for spamming!!
When we upgrade forums there may be a Warnings system which we might implement but a wall of shame is of no real benefit - apart from satisfying your curiosity! ;)

Needless to say we do not ban people for minor 'offences' and it really is a last resort after warning etc.

And I though these forums weren't too old...

I would also like to know what type of forum you might be moving to...
