CAN ipodlounge PLEASE POST A FEATURED ARTICLE REGARDING THIS!!

this has to deal with the Real Rhapsody media frenzy,

would the editors please highlight the following misconceptions in their next featured article PLEEZ for the sake of other ipod loungers being misleaded.

Misconception 1
Its 25 free PLAYS not downloads - So you actually get to listen to some crap or other crap (since its from the Real store, not itunes) 25 times, and you can't even download it to your ipod (so what good is this crap?) Makes us scratch our heads

Misconception 2
The $10 subcription is bogus - its totally what you think its not. For $10 you get unlimited downloads! wow! now here's the fine print, those songs are USELESS in a month. So you actually rent the stupid songs instead of owning them (but its not like theya re 25 plays, you actually download them for a change). Its like getting hooked on a drug and not actually owning a song. You have to keep 'showing the money' and keeing your subcription every month to actually keep your songs playable.

so don't fall for this misconception, (as the case with me)
And frankly this makes it seem that iTunes or Apple have nothing to really worry about in terms of legal downloads or competition from Real.

What does this have to do with the iPod? I don't think this is worth posting, IMHO.

If you read the fineprint, which you should ALWAYS do, you'll find napster is like this as well. They say if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. I don't think this should be made a sticky because you chose not to read the fineprint. When the new napster came out, that was the first thing I did. You realize that a company could not pay royalties if they are offering unlimited downloads. I would just suggest you read closer next time.

I think most of us here were onto the "ploy" that these "music rental" sites were trying to promote. I personally liked the Super Bowl ad by napster, try to make us think that for $10 we could have what it would cost us $10,000 from iTunes. But thanks for the warning anyways.

As always, its "buyer beware"...............

Do you really expect RealNetworks to give you 25 FREE songs of your choice every month?
