any good replacement for apple earphones
Hi, I recently got my IPOd photo 30gb, and I really am starting to hate the apple earbuds, they hurt my ears after sometime. So I was wondering if you guys can recommend a good earphones, or earbuds that is very comfortable, and I use my ipod for running, so it doesn't produce extra sound, and is also within $50. thanks. please reply soon.

I'm pretty satisfied with Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51s: in-ear buds with adjustable fit, significant but not complete sound isolation, better sound quality (improved definition) than stock buds, and only $25 from Amazon.

I would summarise your options as below:
EX81s - Quite cheap (40$) (available from audiocubes.com) available in black or white and will 'stay' in your ear quite well. A noticed improvement on the Ex71s but still have muddy bass and shrilly highs. Cheap and cheerful though.
Shure e2cs - Quite Pricey (about 60$ if you get a good deal)(available from earphone solutions) although they provide very good sound in comparison to other cheapies in this area. The fit and isolation is very good, although it should be noted that you may have problem with microphonics (i.e. the running may sound bad in your ears with these)
B&O A8s - I put this option in purely because I love the design of these, and they seem to have the best mixture between a earbud-stule phone, decent sound quality, and a good solid fit. however, they are price (about 70$) but they do look stunning, if your a sort of poser.
Other than that, you could dab in some sort of headphone clip'ons if or some other, lesser known alternatives. I have good thinks of the Sennheiser MX500s etc.

i might also add that many people consider them very comfortable buds

I just bought Koss The Plug and I like them a lot, sound is pretty good and the fit is great, these are the first pair of earphones i've owned so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but they fit in my very small ears great, and I could go several hours with them in, got them for $15 at KMart

I've got the e2c's; and if you run the cable over the ear, as per design, microphonics aren't much of a problem. Their thick cables also reduce microphonics due to contact with clothing, and they exude quality and durability as a whole. Definitely worth the extra over the EX51's/71's/81's, of which the latter only fit a certain few with any degree of comfort.

I know the ex51s ( http://www.warehouse123.com/ProductInfo.php?pid=SONMDREX51LP-BLU) have the white color available. Good quality and low price! I recommand you get this one!!!

I do, however find that my EX71's are often irritating to take in and out, especially when I'm around other people. They (and the 51's) are best for quiet time.
Otherwise I recommend the Sennheiser MX550's.
