Sony MDR EX71 earphone extension
I therefore had to use my long time HAM radio experience to make a new one. I needed to start with a long commercial extension, so I went to Radio Shack and the only ones available were too heavy and not flexible enough.
The next stop was the dollar store and there it was.. A pair of stereo phones with a long cable for a sigle dollar. I bought two in case I screwed up something.
I cut off the phones and was left with a plug and aboput 5 feet of cable. I stripped it down and there were very tiny (30 gauge) wires.
I cur the cable down to about 18 inches.
I have had some experience with soldering fine wires.
I got a pair of 1/8 inch stereo jacks at Radio Shack for about $4.00 !!
I used some heat shrink tubing to make it look nice and plugged it in.
It worked perfectly so I have a new extension cable for my phones.
IOf you can't make one, I suggest you go on Google and look up the nearest HAM Radio club in your area. I'm sure someone can make you one if you go out and purchase the parts for him/her.
