Shure E3c or better cans suitable for gym use?

I recently bought and Ipod Shuffle and now I'm considering buying some better headphones for use in the gym. Let me preface this by saying I pretty much ONLY use my Ipod shuffle in the gym now but I would like a better sound than I'm currently getting out of my stock headphones that came with the Shuffle.

Since I would be using these phones in the gym, how well would they hold up to this type of environment? Are the cables pretty sturdy? Is sweating all over these things going to ruin them?

I'm sure these are some silly questions but I would like to know before plunking down $120 or so on them.

Are there some of the better phones on the same lvl with the E3c better suited to this environment instead?

Sugguestions?

I've had the E3's for a month or so and am totally diggin' 'em. For working out, just use the cleanable buds and they're great (opposed to the, probably better sounding foam, but expensive and non-cleanable). The noise isolation will put you in your own world and behind the ear-style makes for a refreshing freedom from cords. friggin' great sound...(though they can't surpass my warm Grado's for less active listening sessions).

Well I ordered mine earlier last week after reading up on head-fi.org about them. Sounds like they will work well. I did only order the foamies though. I wasn't sure what size to get on the other types of fittings yet so if nothing else, I can use the foamies at home and get the other styles for gym use.

Thanks for the reply though!
