Shure E3c or Etymotic 6i
I want to get a decent pair of earphones and I cant decide between the Shure E3c or the Etymotic 6i's.
As there is a sale at the moment on at earphonesolutions its tempted me into the Shure's.
Can someone please guide me the write way.
Basicly im looking for great sound with good sound isolation.
Thanks

After tons of on-line research I decided on the Shure E3's, and I couldn't have made a better choice IMHO. For subway listening and just walking around they are superb.

If price is the biggest factor, then the current deal on the e3 looks very good. If you can hold out for another month or so though, e4c is due to drop 5/16 and Ultimate Ears super.fi models by early June, which should shift the balance in the mid-premium canalphone category significantly.

i had the chance to get the E3c; i got ER-6is anyway. though i'm not complaining, did i make a mistake? i was on a tight budget and the E3s were 20CDN more expensive, i guess i'll research more on the E3s; though i dont think i'd go and buy it whenever i get my paycheque. i'm happy w/ my 2 'phones.

ajo, how much are you willing to spend? If it's less than $100 than I guess the Shure E3c and the ER6i would be the best way to go. In my opinion, those two earphones are not worth more than $100 (give or take $20). Since the E4c is suggested to have major improvements over the E3c, and the super.fi are dual drivers-both are at $200 range; I do not think you should spend more than $100 on the E3c.

Well, I just got the 6i's and, as you can see from the thread I started here, they're going back. Next up, the e3c or e4c. I'll let you konw how that goes...

I couldn't be any happier with my new E3c's. This is the best ~$200 I have spent in a long time.
The E3c's bass seems fine to me, but I am not a big BOOM BOOM BOOM bass hog.
I am curious to try the E4's and E5's though.
