Need help picking out headphones
I am looking for a better alternative to the iPod headphones. I have a low price range... 40 and down to be exact.
Could anyone recommend some good headphones. Or tell me if the ones I have been looking at are worth it.
I've been looking atr the Sony MDR-EX51LP/WHI Fontopia Headphones
Information here:
amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000095SB6/qid=1115689438/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-1456399-1616729
And I've also been looking at The Griffin EarJam Earbuds for iPod
Thanks for the help.

Substantially.

Give the Sennheiser PX100's a shot if you don't necessarily need earbuds. They're light, comfy, foldable (into included case), and sound incredible.

They are VERY fragile. I broke mine within about 2 weeks. And besides the quality isnt that much better imo.

200 pounds? They can be found for around US$99!

Hi, Sniper. For once I agree with enjoilax. The EX51s are a great bargain, especially from Amazon. Mine have proven quite durable and have stood up well to a bit of unintentional abuse. The Shure 2Cs are nearly twice the price you specified as your ceiling. And tlinds's suggestion re. the PX100s is right on if earbuds aren't essential.
Doh! Check out the Earphones Solutions ad link at the right. They have the Shure 2Cs right now for $62 with shipping included.

Get the JVC FX55W. It's exactly like the sony EX51s but way cheaper and sturdier.

It is? Though I don't know, it's sure possible that they might be the same but sold under different names ( like Dodge & Plymouth, eh?). If so, then the specifications listed on the manufacturer's websites should be identical. (Though even if the specs are the same, the phones might still be different.)
FX55W
Sensitivity: 95 dB/mW
Nominal Impedance:14 ohms
Frequency Response:5-24,000Hz
Driver Unit: 8.5mm
EX51
Driver Unit: 9mm diameter
Impedance: 16 ohms at 1 kHz
Sensitivity: 100 dB/mW
Frequency Response: 6 - 23,000 Hz
Hmmm--obviously they are not the same. They do look similar, however.

Thanks for the reasponces guys... I have decieded to order the EX-51's off Amazon, and since some of you guys say it's easily broken.. I'll get the warrenty with it.
Edit: Are the MDR-EX71SL or MDR-EX81LP/W better?
