iPod Photo accessories not included

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hi, I just started looking into buying the iPod Photo. I was reading a CNET review that precises that the iPod comes with no extra accessories like the dock or the AV cable. But I found this seller Compuplus through mysimon that includes those and others in the box. Even, the Apple store doesn't have them. So, I'm wondering if he's selling "older" iPod Photos, when the company doesn't include them now, and prefers that customers buy them instead. Is it safe to buy from those online sellers that might hawk the older ones, or go to the Apple store to get the "latest" ones, even with less accessories?
Thanks for your time.

Buy it.
I did the same thing.
There is no difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 other than Apple now trying to sell the AV and Firewire cables, dock and case as options. With the Gen 1 they were included.
There are a lot of "leftovers" of Gen 1's still available.
The only thing you'll need to do is download the latest firmware from Apple and get the latest itunes, both free.

Trust me SnafuRacer, it's a good buy.
Just make sure that you are getting a sealed box, not refurbished, with the full Apple warrenty.

You should not have to pay more than $415 US.
Six months ago these babies were $599.

Let us know how you did.

-->Actually, I read there are. They fixed a few bugs and glitches here and there.

But I am disappointed that they had to leave out the dock and firewire adapters for the updated models (30 GB/60 GB)

Success....:) :) :)
The Brown Man just delivered my little gadget.
It came with everything: dock, firewire and usb cable, av cable, carry case (with Apple tag, but with no window for the wheel or screen, so I'd have to remove the iPod to change songs) and headphones.
I'm charging it now, and will be uploading songs soon.
$408 w/ shipping from Compuplus. (Mods, I don't get nothing from the seller. If you want to remove this last info, feel free to do so).

Micro Center currently has the 1st gen 60gb photo as a closeout special for $399. I bought one this afternoon and picked up Apple Care. Limited quantities... obviously. If there's a Micro Center near you and you're looking to get a 60... don't drop the ball on this one.
Oh yeah... GO PISTONS! :)
