New to ipod just got IPOD Photo 60GB
Hi all,
I just got a new IPOD 60GB from butterfly photo for $379 delivered to my door.(I am sure that is a good price) My question is i use to have an archos v2 recorder and was curious what acessorys were available for it that are worth buying and wether i should get an iskin or a case for my ipod or both

Great price, southbark.
I'm assuming it came without any accessories?
Firewire cable is good, and a dock and AC charger.
A good case is also important if you want to keep the iPod looking good.
A lot of people like the iSkin. I just bought one and am sending it back. The siicone material gets filthy almost immediately and the belt clip seems shoddy. iSkin actually says that it's for "casual use only".
I also just bought a Marware Sports Case and am also returning that. Although the online store said it was for "all" iPods, the one I just received in the mail today says that it's for the "newest gen 3 ipod". ...My Photo 60 doesn't fit.
So although I'll be getting a refund on both, I wasted $ 20 in shipping costs.
My advice is to take your Photo 60 into a store and try out the cases there.

I have read a few threads that say the iskin gets dirty, I have had mine for around 4 months now and haven't found that at all. Is it the normal ones that get dirty as I have one of the 'glowing' ones and no problems. I took the belt clip off though as I have read they can weld themselves to the pod

That's what I bought, eldrakyn.
A "Ghost" glo in the dark.
Maybe it was because f the white color, (I was trying to stay true to the color of the iPod) but I could see that it picked up stains and marks just by handling it.
Not for me.

well it came with a docking station and firewirecable,usb cable ,s-video cable and a black case that clips to a belt oh and a charger.it is suppost to come with all that right.

OK. It seems you got the Gen1 iPod Photo 60 then, with all the accessories.
And you paid $379? That's a GREAT price. Good for you!

Never trust electronic sales personelle. If they're telling you that, they probaly want you to buy up old product. The main difference is battery life, design and button layout.

well it works fine and i looked on the apple site aey charge and they charge 450 bucks plus shipping and tax.i got it for 379 buck delivered to my door

He has an iPod PHOTO. There is no difference between the two iPod photos, except yours was originally more expensive and included more features.
