recording mp3s from an ipod to a cassette tape

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about recording straight from an ipod onto a cassette tape. i assume this is possible but i don't have any idea how to do it.

Welcome and that's because it's not possible. Put the songs onto a disk that your stereo can play to do that.

I would think that an 1/8th inch stero jack to rca jacks would work...no?
Use the ipod headphone port to rca inputs on a tape recorder/ receiver and record in real time.
It would probably help if you could listen at the same time if your recorder supports that.

I'd try:

1/8" stereo headphone splitter/sharer- to allow you to monitor what is happening

1/8" male stereo plug to 1/8" male stereo plug patch cord

Interface plug- depending on what kind of mike input you have on the recorder. Go from 1/8" stereo female to whatever the recorder's mike jack needs- RCA, 1/8" mono, etc.

In fact, I'd take the iPod and the recorder to Radio Shack and ask them for help. They may well have a single cable that will do it for you!

One simple way to do this is to buy a cheap mini system with an aux. port, plug your iPod into it (I use a dv camcorder to tv cable) and hit "record" on the tape deck.
