First In-Home Purchase

Hey there,

I'm about to purchase an in-home system for the iPod, and wanted to get some recommendations from the forum.

Specifically, I'm looking for a system that does not have to be portable, and will give the best sound possible for under $500. Something aestetically pleasing would be nice, but is not necessary. Also, while I'm no audiophile, I've a fairly good ear and so would appreciate a system that can satisfy the more discerning types around here.

Right now I am leaning towards the Klipsch iFi system that is due out soon. Is that a good match for my needs, or should I look elsewhere? Thanks...

I, too seem to already be sold on the soon-to-be-released iFi.

But WHEN will it be released? I have browsed through their website (and added my e-mail address to their 'announcement' bot - but have not heard anything.

The press release marks Spring 2005...

By my calendar- the spring is ending soon! (well, in a month)

Any info or updates any of you have would be great - thanks.

Go with the iFi without a doubt. 500 is not enough to get you a component 2.1 or 2.0 system that would be worthy, but the iFi is actually a really great deal at 400 dollars. You get high quality sound worthy of the price.
