PE Lockers
How would you keep your iPod safe in a PE locker? My school has had alot of stuff stolen from PE lockers lately, probably because the fact that you can just borrow the key from the coach, and unlock any locker you want. All you have to do is pretend you lost your combination number. Should I just not bring it on PE days? (our HS has block scheduling)

It's really up to you, but if I was in your shoes I definately wouldn't take my iPod anywhere where I couldn't have it on me at all times.

Damn good reason to leave your iPod at home!

yeah same is happening at my school too, just the other day someone got his north face stolen, and his nextel.
# 4 Re: PE Lockers
Keep it in ur pocket... But if it is gym, dont take it on those days i guess.
# 5 Re: PE Lockers
either switch out the lock they give you with a similar one from home, or wear a sweatshirt to pe and keep it in the pocket
or wear shorts/sweats with a pocket, just make sure it can zip up or something so it doesn't fall out
# 6 Re: PE Lockers
Cant, you have to dress out into the PE uniforms provided by the school, albeit, no pockets.

It seems to be a good idea to switch out the lock, just dont forget the code :)
# 8 Re: PE Lockers
so then get ur mom to sew some pockets in the ones from the school
# 9 Re: PE Lockers
Put it in in a notebook/folder's pocket in between papers? (Just make sure you don't forget and accidently drop it) :D I thought of that, but I'm not gonna risk it, so I just don't take it on the days I have PE. :(

Bury it under your clothes in the bottom of your lockers. Or get one of the lockers with the key.
# 11 Re: PE Lockers
when im in pe i juss hide in my shoes and cover it with my cloths. but our lockers at my hs are crappy there small and u have to provide your own lock.
# 12 Re: PE Lockers
Hiding it in your clothes will not stop a determined thief - the only way to stop your iPod getting nicked at school is to leave it at home....

true. normally the days where i have PE i dont bring it too school. we have block schedule so i only bring it on "b days" and on those days i like to keep it in my pocket at all times.
# 14 Re: PE Lockers
at my school we provide our own locs and choose our own lockers i doubt our coach has ever even been in the locker room i consider it safe in my pe locker.
# 15 Re: PE Lockers
yea same here at my school. Also any valuables we can keep with the coaches in there lockers.
# 16 Re: PE Lockers
I feel lucky i dont have pe. But yeah leave it at home on b days.
also when u r in hs do u have 2 take pe?
# 17 Re: PE Lockers
Personally I don't trust the lockers at school. On the days where I can't keep my iPod on me and have to put it in a locker (whether it be my normal locker or PE locker), I just don't bother bringing it to school. Not worth the risk at all.
# 18 Re: PE Lockers
lockers work for the most part, but its the type of lock that really matters. The Master combination locks that most schools issue or make u buy, those can easily be broken (i know b/c it's happened to me). Someone with enough downward force can pop that thing open. If u can, use a padlock, its not as easy to pop open.
If u cant use any lock other than one that's issued to you, just leave you ipod at home. Its not worth the risk.
# 19 Re: PE Lockers
use ur own lock on ur locker, simple

# 20 Re: PE Lockers
I feel so bad for all of you! My school is tiny (<600 people) so I know everybody! And If a locker got broken into, it would make HUGE news. Still, there have been a lot of stolen iPods, but all out of unattended purses and backpacks. I guess the unfortunate students who get their iPod stolen are so used to the small safe school environment that they forget they're in HS and got careless. My solution: I always leave my iPod in my locker (iPods are prohibited during class, and our teachers have hawk eyes) until after school, when I use it.
# 21 Re: PE Lockers
1.) Leave in your main, more secure locker during PE
2.) Find one of the secure lockboxes that chain to something else and lock the iPod and other stuff in there. (Not perfectly secure, but really, really tough to break into... also a lot more work than I'd bother with!)
3.) Stash it with the teacher if possible... as long as the teacher can secure it pretty well, cuz I'll bet you they won't be responsible if it gets swiped anyway.
