Bigger Hard Drives / Opening iPod

I have a iPod mini and I was wondering...if the iPod 2G comes out after my return (31 days - I got it yesterday) could I add the bigger hard drive to my iPod mini? Also...how do you open up these iPod mini's? It is one big case around. Do you open it through the top?

ipod & itunes hacks will show you how to open up your mini.. and no interchanging your hdd wont work.and you are a little confusing since the 2nd gen ipod is already out..
