At the moment i am listening to The Kleptones - in to all things remixed - you might like them - its a bit different.

if your into the g-unit and eminem kinda thing, get some mixtapes. Dj Green Lantern the conspericy thery pt.2 is an awsome cd. And preaty much any mixtape it awsome. I would also reomend some Kanye West, Xzibit. And if you want to try some different kind of rap that to me is simply amazing, try A Tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Beastie Boys.

Please, please, if you haven't already, check out some other hip hop, like Masta Ace, Common, Chief Kamachi, Alchemist, Afu Ra, (you must already listen to Wu Tang members, Nas, Biggie etc already?) ..Jedi Mind Tricks, Jean Grae, The Roots, Pete Rock.
None of that stuff is too alternative, just good rap which isn't overly commercialised like Chingy, Bow Wow etc.
I don't listen to that much R&B/pop but Floetry are great, as is India Arie, Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild..

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the Peppers best IMO.
