Dimensions of 4g iPod Dock

I am thinking about using the dock in my car install. Can someone who has one measure theirs? I definately need to know the width (EXACT) and could use the depth as well

Hope this helps you,3 2/16" wide, 2 5/16" deep (2 14/16" including plug) and 10/16" high
measured as accurately as I can with a ruler.

How much room is needed behind the dock for cable clearance?I am thinking about a car mount. I want the cables to go down into the dash. How much clearance would be needed before the cables can be bent downward into the dash?
LOL. I read the post above and it seem like 3 inches would be enough.
Does that sound right?

I think 3 inches would be a bare minimum, as the 2 14/16 I measured was to the end of the dock plug (not including the cable gland).Dom
