Not in stores till the week of 1/24?

I spoke to my local Apple store in Peabody, MA today (as I have every day this week), and they said the latest news as of yesterday is that they won't be getting any Shuffles in until the week of 1/24. Has anyone else heard this? I'm almost tempted to get one off of eBay for a little premium, but most of those are awaiting shipment, too. Has anyone seen one in another store like BB or CUSA yet?

They probably already have 512s, not 1s.Apple started shipping 512s the day it was announced, but I ordered my 1 gig a couple hours after i finished watching the keynote, and it was set to ship 1/24!!! Man, That's too long after my birthday for a birthday present :(

Circuit City is shipping 1/27.Best Buy has a 'coming soon' tag on its website.
Most of the other online sites are 2-3 weeks.
I wouldnt order one,I'd wait another week or so and just hit the big electronics stores in your given area. Target should have them at some point.
I was going to order one but I knew as soon as I did I'd walk into Best Buy and see a big display of them.
If I am gonna have to wait 2-3 weeks anyway I'd rather wait and go buy one in a store,more fun that way.

Most Apple stores are looking at this coming Saturday, the 22nd (same day the Mac mini and all-new software go on sale) and are taking reservations so you'll be notified by email or phone when they arrive. Here in UK my missus ordered one on Thursday from UK Apple store. She was quoted 2 week lead time but got shipping notification on Friday. Should be here Wednesday-ish. Very pleasantly surprised.hotphil at 2007-11-15 13:04:19 >
