Introducing myself to ipods with the shuffle

as i said above i am entering into the ipod world and starting with a shuffle. mainly based on some of the more logical response on the forum.

i was just wondering (as it seems enevitable anyway) but has anything been mentioned or hinted at about headphones with some sort of screen on the cord?

i know it almost defeats the purpose of the shuffle but it does sems a logical step for apple to take.

For a screen, I imagine that would require sometime of port other than the 1/8th inch headphone jack that the shuffle has. I say no.

I agree with AaronS. There doesn't seem to be any I/O ports beside the headphone jack like the HHD ipods do. Maybe in the next release.

This is exactly what Apple intended - to introduce new customers, like yourself, to the iPod, beginning with the shuffle. You'll soon love it, its design and its simplicity so much that you'll be buying a mini or full sized iPod in a few months or maybe a year. I bet ya.

yep, i totally agree with ya. i was going to get an ipod mini but i was umming and arhhing over the price and whether i had the need for what is to me a large HD.

so the shuffle is perfect. and if i get on well with it then i totally agree with you. it will be a HD Ipod next.

tosspot_ohyeah:

You have the shuffle. Can you upload free mp3s onto it? I am thinking about buying one but I don't want to pay for iTunes because free mp3s are legal where I live.

You can upload ANY compatible format to it. Plain old MP3s are just fine.
