i guess not. the remote/headphone plug won't fit on the iPod shuffle connector.

No it won't. If you look at the iPod shuffle picture you'll notice that it doesn't have the remote connector bit next to the headphone jack. So therefore it won't work and you won't even be able to connect it.

The question is raised in my mind, wasn't this obvious to you?

The only reason I can see someone asking this is if you haven't seen the iPod Shuffle, which I doubt because i'm sure you would look at apples site before posting about it!

Not getting at you, just does seem slightly odd, it wont fit so it wont work.

LOL the shuffle is almost the size of a remote anyway. What do you need a remote for?

eventually theres going to be a shuffle which is permanently attached to headphones and is the size of the original remote...

Well, I guessed it, but I wasn't 100% sure and wasn't interested in studying advertisments for hours. That's why I asked the source of knowledge - not without being dealt with like a moron *LOL*.

The reason why I was asking is that I think that the remote control is easier for controlling the device than the buttons on the unit when you are jogging. The remote control buttons are very well defined and easy to handle without looking at it, which comes in handy while running. Thats what I currently do with my iPod mini.
But wearing the "shuffle" on your neck while it bounces around from and to your chest, catching it and finding the right buttons - I think is not equal to the remote.

Thanks.
