Moving songs from old computer to new..help.

Okay, so the computer I use now has iTunes and a huge music library I use for my iPod. I am reformatting it and getting rid of it in exchange for a new computer that I'm putting together myself.

Is there an easy way to transfer all of the songs over to the new computer? I thought that plugging in the iPod would recreate my Library on the new computer but on the other hand, I think I need the physical songs (5MB each..hundreds of songs..) in My Music for the iPod to synchronize with iTunes.

You can download the program CopyPod from this website that allows you to transfer songs from your iPod to your computer.

Very cool, I should have looked in the downloads section first. Thanks a lot.

I have a related question (I'm going through the same thing) - what about ratings, playlists, etc? Will CopyPod carry all of that over as well?

I myself have never used the program, however, I would imagine so.
