Weird symbol that makes me mad

Everytime i try to turn on my Ipod, the apple shows up, then before the menus show up, a folder and an exclamation point show up on the screen, and my ipod turns off.

Find out what you can do if you see a folder icon with an exclamation point when you turn on your iPod or iPod mini. iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation point when you turn it on
