new ipod mini anytime soon? plz help!
Hey,
Im new to the forum so be kind!
I want to buy my sister an ipod mine for her birsth day 28th feb (should be 29th but its not a leap year :p) but can any of you tell me if theres a new one to be released sson? because ive heard about this 5gig version etc.
Also, are new apple products ALWAYS released at trade shows or can they sometimes just pop up?

No news of new mini coming out until maybe later this year. Around the 4th quarter of 2005, they might announce something.

So you think it would be safe to buy it and not have it updated for 6months-1 year? I know that you dont know, but is that what you would say?

You will never be satisfied if you are always waiting for the best thing to come out... I'd say it is safe to buy a mini.

To add on to what x2c667 said, do you need more than 4GB? If you feel you need that, you might want to wait. If you'd be ok with 4, go ahead and get it now. You're not going to do yourself a favor by waiting for something you don't need.

I know there will almost 100% be a new ipod mini this time next year, but not too close to now is what i mean?
I think i will go ahead and buy, unless any of you know why i shouldnt?
