Does not charge with USB
I'm having a very confusing problem...
My ipod does not charge when connected to my USB port :(
I've tried doing every thing i could think of but it still does not work. I also restored it to original settings. When i was doing this the ipod charged before i restared the computer. once i restarted it itunes automatically opened and after the "do not disconnect" sign went off the ipod does not charge any more...
has this happened to anyone else? am i doing something wrong? are there some settings that i need to correct?
please help !!

What version of iPod do you have? 4G and minis are the only ones capable of USB charging. My 3G iPod won't charge over USB. Also, some USB ports don't provide power. It could be the computer.

Yes it is a 4G and my USB port does provide power. It charged the ipod untill i synced it with itunes.
once the songs were transfered it stopped charging !!

Not to be patronising, but how are you sure it isn't charging? Is there anything it is doing that is abnormal?

The battery sign (top right) does not show the charge sign. Also the battery drained when i was listening to music via the itrip at home while the ipod was connected to the PC

Yoohoo... it started working. I'm not sure why though !!
i reinstalled the software for the fourth time and this time it decided to work.
however, it does not update the track names when i rip a CD - which is a big pain
