Can Anyone tell me what Generation my Pod is?
I'm purchasing a USB iPod Dock Connector for my iPod, but it says I must have a 3G or 4G Pod.

My iPod is the one on the left--and my Model No. is A1040 and its a 40GB one. So what generation is it?

3G, 3Gs have four buttons up top, and a soft touch clear wheel, 4Gs have a click wheel like you see on the iPod mini.

Ok i think we've clarified what generation his iPod is. There's no need to keep on telling him its a 3G, as i think that's been established 5 times now.

That's sort of a funny statement considering you were the 3rd person to tell him it's a 3G. Did your "3G" response provide some sort of clarification the previous 2 were unable to expess?
