Heads up about New vs. Refurbished iPods

I recently bought a new 20GB ipod but had to send it back due to some defects. Apple told me they were sending me a brand new one. When it arrived, there was a big pencil mark on the click wheel, and the wheel didn't work quite right. I sent it back and received yet another one. This time, the white front part was larger than the back shiny metal part. So now the white parts hangs over the back metal part making the ipod literally "rough around the edges." I called Apple to see if they sent me a refurbished one instead of a new one, and he replied, "Well, when we send a new ipod to someone, we have no idea whether it is refurbished or new. Apple doesn't tell us or the Apple stores which ones they are sending to the costumers."

I don't want to send it back again so I put my not-so-perfect ipod in a protective case where I can't feel the sharp edges.

I just wanted to let you all know about this.

That is really poor on apples half, and this isnt the first time I have heard of these cases.

I had a stuffed 15gb, a week later it was a new 3rd gen 15gb, looked better than my old one, apparantly i got one of the last new 15gb....so apple obviously do know....

They must have a crap ipod pile and a new ipod pile, they probably had some one over at indian support thinkin crap ipod pile was new ipod pile.
