heeeelp meeee

hi there. i have had a minor but worrying problem well infact seriies of problems, and i dont know if its down to me being paranoid. Basically i was really worried after hearing the many problems ppl have with their ipod, and i fewlt like i had just got a temporary mp3 player which would have to be replaced at my expense. but anyhow, i went to press one of the buttons to turn the ipod on, it whirred a bit, but i had to press it a following time to get it to start, there is a possibility that i ddnt press properly. also i had it in my pocket and a song just skipped on its own, but now i dunno if i had the skip protect on. lastly yesterday, i pulled the ipod out of my pocket whilst walking, and triesd tot urn it on, it turned on but then displayed the apple logo for about 5 seconds. i hope that its cos i pressed restart by accident, cos i was fumbling around, but i dont think that i help the buttons for that long. i just wondered if i should be worried at all. also one more thing, where can i buy some decent iskins and nice leather cases in the uk. all the links herre are for american sites, and obviously will take longer to deliver. thankyou so much.

Oh I dream of paragraphs and capital letters ;)

Ok.. lets have a go:

i dont know if its down to me being paranoid.
I think so.

i went to press one of the buttons to turn the ipod on, it whirred a bit, but i had to press it a following time to get it to start
Start what? Start playing a song? That's normal. One press to turn it on, and one press to start playing a song.

also i had it in my pocket and a song just skipped on its own, but now i dunno if i had the skip protect on.
Maybe it would be a logical first step to try and see if you can replicate the problem.

it turned on but then displayed the apple logo for about 5 seconds. i hope that its cos i pressed restart by accident,
It's unlikely you pressed reset by accident. The apple logo will sometimes appear if the iPod has been off for awhile. It will also appear if the battery is about to go flat.

i just wondered if i should be worried at all.
You do sound like a worrier. An iPod is a delicate piece of equipment, but it's isn't made of crystal. You can expect the odd glitch, as with any piece of equipment. But from the information you've provided, you don't seem to have any real problems. I would take a chill pill and listen to some calming music.

all the links herre are for american sites,
No they aren't.

Maybe your iPod enters deep sleep?
If you don't use iPod for 72 hours it shuts down completely. In that state it can be only turned on by pressing center key and then it boots up showing an apple logo.
More info on Apple website.

I meant that i pressed it, and it ddnt turn on, i had to press it a following time. Also the iPod had only been off for about half an hour, and the battery was fully charged. Hmmm, im thinking that ill just wait and give it a few more chances.
What i meant was, is it normal to experience a few glitches, i mean i know other ppl who say they have experienced no problems, so thats why i thought mine must be busted.
Sorry about my rushed writing, at least this time i have got paragraphs.
please reply as i am very concerned:mad: (that is what my fACE looks like)
