Weird troubleshoot icon (plug and arrow?)

I tried restoring my ipod by downloading the latest updater from the ipod website and now, when I try to start my icon, the apple logo appears, the hard drive kicks in, but then it stops suddenly and shows this ugly icon:

When I try plugging it in my computer the computer doesn't recognize it, it does the same thing: shows the icon and shuts off. I have no clue what to do, any help appreciated. Thanks.

hmm, I've never seen anthing like that. did you just plug off even you saw 'do not disconnected' during updating? you know, after doing that, you have to eject ipod icon inn your computer first. then, you see ipod screen change from 'do not disconnected' to ipod normal menu. then, pull it off from firewire or usb cable. if you didn't, you got a problem. you have to resume the same process again. you should not ignore 'do not disconnect' sign because computer recognize your ipod as external hard drive.

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't ignore the message, when I clicked on Restore, I proceeded doing something else, when I checked back the iPod, the screen was blank so I just disconnected it. Now it shows me this message and resetting it by holding menu and play won't do anything.

Stillwell, Try hooking up to the power brick.
That is required if you upgrade or restore your iPod for the new firmware to load.
