Windows Ipod on Mac
So far it seems that this is a benefit. You can use the pod on both machines when formatted this way.

The disadvantages I've heard of are:1) A Windows-formatted iPod runs a bit slower on a Mac compared to a Mac-formatted iPod (Note: I've read this in the past, I have no first-hand knowledge of whether it is true or not)
2) As long as you continue to have access to a Windows PC for iPod Software (i.e., firmware) updates you're OK. But if you lose access to that Windows PC and you want to update the iPod Software you'll need to reformat the iPod to Mac-formatted.
