new user questions
Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. First off, apologies if this has been covered. I have spent half an hour reading the forums and searching, but I don't believe I have an answer to my question yet.
Secondly, I have never had an iPod before, I have been saving for this thing for about 900 years, and I'm very freaked out over every single thing that could even potentially be a small problem, mostly because 400 bucks a lot of money for me. For reference, I have a new 4g 40gig.
Okay, that being said, I realise these might be stupid questions, but here goes...
I love randomizer like there's no tmrw. It appeals to the attention deficit spaz that is my brain. So, I will listen to about 4 seconds of a song and hit next until I can settle for actually spending 4 minutes listening to one thing (I don't do this all the time, just when I'm antsy or bored). Every so often -about every 10/20 songs - the iPod will stall slightly, I feel it whirring for a couple seconds, and then it will start playing again. This is normal, I'm hoping, because it is only a normal hard drive. I just wanted to check with someone that it is normal and I won't permanently kill the iPod with my spaziness.
Also, when I have some songs on the highest volume on my speakers (as some are just quieter than others), the left headphone will fuzz slightly, as if something is shaking inside. Only the left, never the right (even when the song is equally distributed to both.. I think mono as opposed to stereo?) Is this just normal because of bass and physical properties, or is there something wrong with the headphones?
Again, sorry for any stupidity, but I am a very freaked out newbie. I feel a little bit like the crazed new mother who rushes a newborn to the ER cause he sneezed... but better safe than sorry, right?
Thanks in advance.

Normal, your iPod is loading songs into it's memory buffer from the hard drive.

Do you have any of the EQ's turned on? If so, turn it off and try the song again to see if the "fuzz" is still there. If it is, you may very well have defective earbuds. Apple will replace them for free if you call them, or you can submit a request online here:
