turn off autosync

I have a pc, if i turn off auto sync can i update my ipod with songs, delete some songs, add more music, update it again...but still have the deleted songs on the ipod device? i just want them off my hd. please tell me if so, and how. thanks

so youre saying that you want to delete songs from both the ipod and your copmuter's HDD at the same time? youre going to have to do that manually, unless you have auto-sync turned on.if auto sync is on, you delete the file from your HDD, and when you sync up your ipod, the same file will be removed from your ipod.
