Dock Connector issues, Atlanta iTrip

1) This first problem has been going on for at least 2 months now and it's only getting worse. I've got a 3g iPod that I got for Christmas last year. Whenever I plug in the cable to the dock connector (no Dock for me, I'm cheap), I have to finagle it a bit before the iPod recognizes that it's plugged in. A mere annoyance at first, but over the past couple weeks it's gotten to the point where the thing keeps coming out without my knowledge. Has anyone else had this problem?

2) I live in Atlanta (reprasent) and I've been having a lot of static on my iTrip. I drive mostly on the north side (285, 75, 400, Dunwoody in general) and use 87.9. Are there any frequencies that work better? Or should I just go to a cassette adapter?

#1 is either a cable issue, or the dock-connector port on your iPod is damaged. Simple thing to try would be a new cable. If that doesn't fix the problem than you may need to have your iPod repaired. I'm not sure if this sort of thing would be covered under warranty or not, but it's worth looking into.
