Burning Probs

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Could anyone tell me why I can only burn cd's from my library and not from my ipod ?

The only option I have when selecting a playlist from my ipod is to browse ? But when I select a smart playlist from library, say like 'top 25 most played' then the burn icon appears.. but no matter what I do I can't get that icon when I select ipod playlist..

this is driving me crazy...

please help before I go mad !

It's probably because that's the way Apple designed it to keep the recording companies happy. (Same reason you can't copy music back to your hard drive from within iTunes.)

it could also be due to the constant buffering between ipod/pc/cd drive that apple was worried about... but i dont see why that would be such an issue.

well either way you can't do it. there are several programs that are designed to copymusic back toyour computer from iPod if you go to the downlaods section of this site.

So I can't do it then ? Great ! I thought that was one of the great things about itunes, how wrong I was..

So am I correct in saying that you can only burn playlists from the library ?

And that you can't burn anything from the ipod ?
