problems transferring music

So i just got my ipod like 3 weeks ago and i've been putting music onto it and have like 670 songs so far. Today i just uploaded lots more music to transfer and while my ipod was connected it said that the new music went on but when i disconnected the new music is not showing up, it says i still only have 670 songs. HELP! is there something wrong with my ipod or am i doing something wrong?

were the songs, ripped from a CD, or downloaded off the itunes Music store?if any are from the store make sure the songs are authorized first prior to transfering them, i've had that happen on a couple songs I've downloaded

They were from my cd's. Its weird cuz i didnt have this problem for all the other previous ones. Whats bothering me is that it shows that it transferred everything but when i disconnect they are all gone.
Any suggestions?
