Cant eject iPod.

I currently have my ipod plugged into the firewire. But when I click eject on iTunes, it says that another source might be using the ipod so i cant do it. Then I tried under "my computer", and it wouldnt work either. How do I safely eject it?

It does say "do not disconnect". Thats the problem! I dont know how to make that go away. Nothing is downloading because I closed itunes.

What I did was to access your Windows Task Manager (Clt-Alt-Del) and END the iPodService.exe program under the Processes

And then you can "safely remove hardware" that way. Now my problem is, I don't even have the "Safely remove hardware" icon in my Taskbar at all. This is giving me so much headaches.

It always says "do not disconnect" on the Ipod, until you actually disconnect it. That is no indication that anything is accessing the Ipod.

spot- that's not true... Usually I never disconnected that way since I got the ipod. I always wait until the menu appears or the battery icon appears.

ITunes won't let me disconnect my mini. It says "Can't not be ejected because it contains files that are currently being used by another application" It has been doing this and also ITunes has been locking up since I downloaded and installed the latest IPOD software from Apple...

Any thoughts on the best way to proceed from here?
