iPod wont connect to PC. Please help.

I have a 20GB 3G iPod running version 2.2, and a Windows XP PC. I am having trouble connecting my iPod via the USB 2.0 cable, and syncing with iTunes. A few weeks ago it was working perfectly and has now suddenly stopped connecting with my PC. IS this something to do with my USB card, iTunes, iPod or another source. Any help would be much appreciated.

try connecting another device via usb if you haev one and see if it recognizeds it, that will tell you,. also yuo can check control pane>system?hardware>device manager> usb controller and double click to see if there any conflicts.

Try resetting your iPod.

well you could do a total restore to the iPod with the updatr software, that would probably fix it, but that wll wipe the iPod clean, so you would need to backup your music, and files.

I don't think that is the issue. My iPod isn't being recognised by my computer when i plug it in so i wouldn't be able to run the update software anyway.

you can try to re-install iTunes,. you can try to re-install your usb driver. IF that doesnt work. You are probably in trouble
