Charging Screen

Got my 4g 20 GB from the apple store in regent street today, get it home and star charging only to see a blue screen no battery indicator going up, however when i plug it into my iBook using usb it charges correctly with the indicator and all that. What is going on, has anyone else seen this...it only does the blue screen thing when i plug it into my wall socket with the firewire lead?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to iPodlounge!

Sounds like either a faulty FireWire cable, or a faulty AC Adaptor. Apple will replace them for you if you get in touch with them.

It was indeed a faulty ac supply. Wil it have done any harm to the battery charging it using that faulty one...should i demand a new battery basically.

Tom,

Sorry, I really don't know. I suppose it's possible that a faulty iPod AC Adaptor could damage the iPod in some way, but I'm not really sure how you'd go about determining that.

well i've been using it as is, and the battery life seems fine so i guess its ok. Its not overheating or anything else so i guess its fine.
