iTunes already installed

I have just put my new ipod on charge, yehaa!!!
The question I have is that iTunes is already installed on my PC and there are 29gbs of music raring to go. If I just install the software from the CD that came with the iPod, would that cause any problems?
I did have a look for this question but could not find an answer, was I missing something, because I imagined it would have been asked before!.

Nope, that's fine. Just stick the CD in once the iPod is charged, and it will take you from there.

Oh the wait is killing me, 1.2 hours to go before the recommended 3 hour fist charge is up
I suppose I am lucky I don't have to wait until xmas like others here!

You will know when the first charge is done when the icon on screen changes from 'charging' to 'charged'. That's when it will be safe to use it.

ohh that wait is a killer isnt it, i spent it doing last minute things with itunes and then i fell asleep for a the remaining 2 hours :)

This is fantastic, the only thing is now I am waiting while my wife is singing at the top of her voice saying this thing is great, I love it and like WOW!

Well i dont have a wife or a Girlfriend so the ipod is all MINE. :D

Fight the temptation to go ahead and sync before the recommended time is up. I went ahead and did it after only a few minutes and had all sorts of problems. The manual states something to the effect of it's safe to sync as long as it's plugged into the charger. Don't beleive it ... your patience will pay off !
