iPod cant seem to read songs....

My iPod was working perfectly fine until i accidentally took it out of the USB connector thing prematurely since I was on a rush. Ever since then, the iPod has been able to turn on and such, but when i choose a song, it seems to struggle to find the song and eventually freezes. It doesnt seem to want to respond to the computer...so Im out of ideas on what to do

Welcome to the lounge. Use the updater to restore the iPod back to its factory settings. Make sure your music is backed up since this will erase the iPod.honeybee1236 at 2007-11-15 13:45:43 >

I would love to be able to simply update my computer so that my iPod resets itself. However, as i stated above, the iPod doesnt respond with my computer 90% of the time. The other 10% that it does 'seem' to respond, it crashes the computer, until i manaully take it out, which pains me to do.atjdragon at 2007-11-15 13:46:44 >
